The Tokyo Hy-Power HC-2000 is designed to be an antenna coupler for Amateur Radio stations operating in the high-frequency bands. It was built during the eighties for use on 160, 80, 40, 30, 20, 17, 15, 12, and 10 meters, but not specifically for 60 meters, although it may function there as well.

The HC-2000 above carries a lower serial number than the unit below. Notice the different positioning of the tune and load control numerals.

newer

The HC-2000 incorporates a tapped inductor rather than a roller coil. The band select knob presets the appropriate tap, leaving only the tune and load capacitors in need of adjustment in order to obtain correct coupling. It is my opinion that this speeds and simplifies the coupling process.
