Shure General Catalog 61

Shure General Catalog 61

This is the cover of Shure General Catalog 61, which as you can see includes descriptions, technical specifications, and prices from that era for microphones, high fidelity products, and electronic components. Twenty-eight pages in length, this booklet is a trip into the past for those of us who are of the appropriate age to remember, or at the very least it is an eye-opener for those who see Shure mics on eBay and wonder what they cost when they were new.

Beginning on page four are photos, descriptions, applications, technical specifications, and list prices for the Model 333 Studio Uni-Ron, the Model 525 Studio Slendyne, and the Model 300 Studio Gradient. Page six features the Model 330 Professional Uni-Ron along with the Models 315 and 315S Gradient. Models 530 Broadcast Slendyne and 535 Slendyne are on page seven. And page eight carries the Unidyne III series, which include the Model 546 Broadcast, the 545S, and the 545. The 55S, 55SW and 556S Unidynes are found on page nine.

The Shure 333 Uni-Ron

Next are the Sonodyne II 540S and the Sonodyne 51 and 51S, followed by the Model 737A Monoplex and the 777 Slim-X. Then come the low-cost all-purpose ceramic and crystal microphones, including the Starlite Models 215 and 715, the Rex Model 710, and the Model 707A. After that are the Model 510 Hercules, the Model 510SLB, the 520SL and 520SLB Dispatcher, and of course the Model 520 and 520B Green Bullet. The “Controlled Magnetic” general purpose mics are next, and include the 415, the 420, and the 430. Special purpose mics are the Model 405T Ten-Four with its high-impact Armo-Dur corrosion-proof case, along with the Model R5T conversion kit.

There are Amateur Radio communication mics, special purpose mics for language labs, microphone replacement cartridges, carbon communication microphones, accessories such as the “Grip-to-Talk Slide-to-Lock” switch, in-line impedance-matching transformers, desk stands, a swivel adapter, and lavalier assemblies. There are turntable tone arm cartridges, tape and wire recorder heads, stereo line preamps, and even tone arm assemblies.

As you would expect from this web site, this twenty-eight-page catalog is downloadable as a six-megabyte pdf, and is formatted for viewing on screen as well as for 8½ by 11-inch printing. Enjoy.
