Danny Munro — Guitar, vocals
Jaysson Black — Bass, vocals
David Martinez — Drums

Orange Cones coalesced from the remains of Southern California’s acoustic trio Chocolate Zulu, after its drummer walked off stage in the middle of a set at Pasadena’s Old Towne Pub in 2006. Danny & Jaysson tried in vain to find a replacement drummer, until Danny moved to Atlanta & joined Tx/Rx as its bass player. Jaysson joined L.A.’s Divisible as its bass player.

When Danny returned to California in 2008, the two joined forces with David Martinez, a fledgling drummer & the perfect addition to round out the new sound.

The band’s music ranges from punky to folky, from crunchy guitar to acoustic. There’s a little bit of funk, a little bit of ska, & a lot of personality.

Orange Cones members recorded their first CD in July 2008, selecting nine songs from the vast catalog at their disposal. & while waiting for the masters of their initial recording, they wrote some of their favorite material. During the debacle that was getting their CD mixed & mastered, the Orange Cones guys have watched the buzz grow.

Under different names, Danny & Jaysson have performed throughout the Los Angeles area, in Santa Monica, Echo Park, West Hollywood, San Dimas, & the aforementioned Old Towne Pub in Pasadena, as well as touring in Germany. Danny played some of this material in Atlanta, including world-famous Eddie’s Attic in Decatur. After more than 20 years in the business, the guys have never been as excited as they are about Orange Cones.

With an established presence on the web, including the usual outlets, & a network of friends & industry professionals, the Cones are prepared to promote themselves tirelessly. Playing live is the band’s passion, & recording is an adventure.
